(EN) Vida Dena is an Iranian female artist and filmmaker who is currently living and working in Brussels. Born in Tehran, she studied her bachelor in Architecture in Tehran and moved to Sweden in 2009 to continue her studies in Master of fine arts. She then moved to Brussels and in 2015 she got her master in film making from KASK school of arts in Gent. Currently she is working as an artist in Brussels, where she draws, paints, makes films and curates exhibitions and cultural events.She also gives workshops to children, teenagers and newcomers.Vida is also part of the audiovisual collective called Ciclope, as well as the collective “Comment peut-on être persan?”. “My paperlife”, her first feature-length documentary premiered in 2022 in Vision du réel festival and afterwards projected at many festivals such as Sheffield DocFest and IDFA.
(FR) Vida Dena (née à Téhéran) est une artiste iranienne et une réalisatrice indépendante qui vit actuellement à Bruxelles, en Belgique. Elle a obtenu sa licence en architecture à l’Université d’Art et d’Architecture à Téhéran. L’été 2009, elle est partie en Suède pour poursuivre son master en beaux-arts à l’Académie des beaux-arts d’Umeå. Elle a également obtenu un master en cinéma à la KASK de Gand, en Belgique, en 2015. Actuellement, elle travaille comme artiste à Bruxelles, où elle dessine, peint et est commissaire d’expositions et d’événements culturels et donne des ateliers aux enfants, adolescents et nouveaux arrivants. Elle fait également partie du collectif audiovisuel appelé “Ciclope”, ainsi que du collectif “Comment peut-on être persan ?”. Son film “Ayan et le Ballon Blanc” (2015) a été présenté en avant-première au 58e Festival international du film documentaire et d’animation de Leipzig. Son premier long métrage documentaire “My Paper Life” a été présenté en avant-première à Visions du Réel 2022 et puis à Sheffield DocFest et IDFA.
